Information Architecture

Definition

Information architecture is the science of identifying what you want your web site to do and then creating a blueprint before you start putting the site together. The good blueprint leads to a well designed web site which will provide an excellent customer experience. Brief overview of steps:

  • Planning: define site goals, audience, services, and purpose.
  • Define the content to meet the stated goals.
  • Define the site logical hierarchy which follows industry vocabulary and standards.
  • Work with user groups to continue refining the blueprint until it achieves the goals.
Information Portal looks forward to working with you to create your blueprint.
